TRURO - A blowing snow warning for Colchester County has ended.

Snow continues to fall and blow throughout Colchester County on Sunday, making driving conditions poor. Roads throughout the Town of Truro were still snow covered Sunday morning and slippery in spots.

Environment Canada's warning, which was in effect for Truro and south, was ended at about 9:15 Sunday morning.

For the rest of the day, there is a 60 per cent chance of flurries, clearning late Sunday afternoon. There will be local blowing snow with a wind north at 40km/h, gusting to 70, becoming northwest 30 and gusting to 50 this afternoon.

The temperature will remain steady at around -6 C.

Roads throughout the province are snow-covered or partially covered. The 100 series highways are passable with caution.

Unnecessary travel is not recommended. Motorists are encouraged to stay off highways to allow plows and salt trucks to continue to clear roads.

Drivers can call 511 or visit Nova Scotia's 511 website for the latest road conditions.
