Brothers charged with murder appear for focus hearing

TRURO – Two Hants County brothers charged with murder appeared in provincial court for a focus hearing on Wednesday, and will appear for a further focus hearing in the spring.

Dustan Joseph Preeper, 24, originally from Noel and now living in Halifax, and Joshua Michael Preeper, 20, of Kennetcook, had their matters adjoured until April 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Dustan Preeper is charged with second-degree murder of Truro’s Ben Hare, who was found dead outside a Lyman Street apartment on July 8, 2010.

Both Preeper men are charged with first-degree murder of Melissa Peacock of Dartmouth.

The 20-year-old woman was reported missing in November 2011 and her remains were found on a rural property in Upper Stewiacke this past July.
