At approximately 7:45 a.m. Monday, a male showed up at a residence in Beaver Bank asking for help. He stated he had crashed an off-road vehicle in the woods and that the person he was riding with, Gregory Francis Yhard, 36 years old from Wellington, was still in the woods.
Further investigation revealed that Mr. Yhard was not missing. As a result, RCMP have arrested a 38-year-old man for public mischief. The investigation is continuing.
The male who reported the crash was transported to hospital by EHS with non life threatening injuries. Halifax RCMP attended and searched the area. Halifax Regional Ground Search and Rescue assisted with the search, along with members of the Colchester Ground Search and Rescue. The RCMP Helicopter was also on scene.
