TRURO – A roundabout planned for the eastern off ramps of Highway 102 at Robie Street is included as a major project on this year’s Department of Transportation road construction plans.

Topics :
Truro Road , Colchester County , Coldstream Road

It was initially anticipated that the work would take place last year but construction did not begin before the season ended.

A total of 20.8 kilometres of paving projects are also on this year’s priority list.

That work includes six km. of asphalt work on Coldstream Road, from 600 metres south of the Johnson Road to Route 224; 5.3 km. on Masstown Road, northerly from Highway 104 exit to Plains Road; 4.7 km., easterly from Route 280 to Route 236 and 4.8 km. on the Truro Road northerly from Stewarts Bridge in North River.

The department is also planning 6.4 km. of double chip resurfacing on Route 256, from Route 311 to 300 m west of Truro Road.

A multiple-year bridge replacement/rehabilitation project is also planned for Lockhart Bridge on Trunk 2.

The province’s total highway capital budget for this year is $245.8 million. Additional operational funding for highway maintenance will be made available as part of the 2013-14 budget.

What about robie st.? That's a main route and it's a mess. Like in the right lane in front of shoppers you almost get air on the hump. Also price st is bad now since they redid the sidewalks and maybe the worst of all is esplanade street. The whole street is embarrassing. The intersection of young and Arthur streets is in need of repair too. Forget about roundabouts for now and fix what we already have. Thank you.
