DEBERT – Residents of Debert will witness a major development soon as the Home Hardware Eastern Distribution Centre announced Monday the official purchase of additional land close to its current location.
A committed employer with deep roots in the local community, the Eastern Distribution Centre is moving forward with plans for the construction of a substantial facility expansion.
“The exceptional people in the community have embraced the Eastern Distribution Centre for many years,” said Harvey Gullon, manager, Eastern Distribution Centre, in a news relaese. “With the purchase of the land now official, we are excited to build an expansion that will allow us to grow our operations and continue to service Home Hardware Building Centres efficiently.”
With the arrival of the property purchase closing date now at hand, the Eastern Distribution Centre moves to the next stage of the expansion process.
The contractor selected to manage the expansion will work closely with many local contractors throughout the construction process, keeping the quality work of the people of Debert at the core of facility development.
“The land purchase and extensive expansion project that has been undertaken is a testament to the spirit of our Staff in Atlantic Canada,” said Paul Straus, President and CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “On behalf of the dealer-owners of close to 1,100 Home Hardware stores across Canada, we congratulate the Eastern Distribution Centre on these exciting developments and look forward to continuing to support them during this period of growth.”
The date for construction to begin on the extended facility is tentatively set for March 1. A ground breaking ceremony will be announced closer to that date to mark the special occasion.
