The Colchester RCMP was called to the Ryland Avenue break and enter at 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 9. Officers arrived and arrested a 14-year-old male at the scene.

A second suspect fled prior to police arriving.

The investigation revealed the suspects were responsible for a number of other thefts including from vehicles around Bible Hill and damaging lights at a daycare on Pictou Road.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. the following day, the RCMP received a call of prowlers on Kent Road in Lower Truro.

Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle leaving the area, however the driver failed to stop. It was later located abandoned at the intersection of Kent Road and Highway 236 and determined to have just been stolen from Clydesdale Road.

At approximately 9 p.m., officers with the integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Colchester RCMP arrested a 17-year-old male in Bible Hill in connection with these crimes.

He has been charged with numerous offences including break and enter. Both youths are due to appear back in Truro court in late January.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are anticipated.
