BIBLE HILL – The Village of Bible Hill is looking into an engineering review to assess sidewalk flooding along Boblee Drive and Farnham Road.
The study would help commissioners decide whether or not to approve the installation of more pipes under Farnham Road to improve the storm water system in that section. It’s believed the area was built up years ago, creating water flow problems.
The village will likely spend about $1,500 to have an engineering review done of the area, in which a berm has been built around some homes. Village clerk Bob Christianson said there are “six or eight” homes in that area of concern.
Even if the study takes place, it’s not a guaranteed solution, said village commissioners.
“I don’t think there’s going to be any good outcome to this,” said chairman Tom Burke, adding if work was done to alleviate one area, care has to be taken not to negatively affect nearby sites.
“We can’t dump water from one property to another property.”
“As long as we have water flow, we will have a problem,” added Christianson. “I’d like to proceed to see what the engineer says but I don’t know if it’s a good solution. We may be wasting $1,500.”
