Police seize drugs, gun in Collingwood

COLLINGWOOD – Drugs and a firearm were seized from a Collingwood home on Friday after a search by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

Terry Wood, 52, was arrested and is facing a number of charges following the search.

The search warrant was executed just before 6 p.m. on Friday and 40 pounds of marijuana was seized, along with several capsules of cannabis resin, a firearm and ammunition.

Wood is facing charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, uttering threats to peace officers, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, failing to comply with a recognizance, possession of cannabis resin for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and production of cannabis resin.

He has been remanded and will appear in court in Amherst on Monday.
