UPPER ONSLOW - An 18-wheeler that went off Highway 104 in Upper Onslow will be moved on Monday.

The driver of the truck was not injured when it flipped onto its side just as the ramp enters onto the 104 toward New Glasgow from Highway 102.

The contents of the truck were being loaded onto a crane before being moved to another transport truck.

The Colchester RCMP will assist with traffic control as workers lift the truck upright. The highway is currently down to one lane.

I travel this route daily. Words cannot describe what a frightening experience it is to be tailgated you at speeds in ++ excess of 50 kms by these monster trucks. I would like to suggest that the speed limit be posted closer to the ramp rather than mid way. Perhaps some will slow down....

Marie, Whilst your e-mail might be valid in a general sense for your experience, they do not in any way pertain to the circumstances of this 'single' vehicle incident. The driver was attempting to pull over onto the shoulder in whiteout blizzard conditions at night. The manoeuvre was being attempted to preserve the safety of the driver and other road users, Truck driving is hugely important job that keeps goods flowing throughout our nation. An oft thankless task in which drivers encounter hugely ill considered and dangerous driving by small vehicles.

My Son was driving that truck and it would be nice if the previous had thought a little about his welfare and family first. A truck is not an easy drive when truckers are always having to anticipate the actions of car drivers who don’t know or care about their driving and the impact it has for those driving trucks. My son is a careful considerate driver who has driven on many continents accident free I might add
