RCMP in Nova Scotia are asking motorists to take extra precaution on the roadways as a “significant” winter storm began moving across the province.

The Environment Canada forecast for the Truro area is calling for snow mixed with ice pellets changing to rain this evening. Rainfall amount of between five and 10 mm are expected, along with local blowing snow this evening.  Winds from the east of 40 km/h are predicted to gust up to 70 km/h, becoming southeast at 20 km/h overnight. The temperature is expected to rise to plus 5 by morning.
