TRURO – Temporary Truro residents or others who simply don’t have any special plans for Christmas are invited to check out Christmas at the Café.
The third annual event is set for Dec. 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Truro Farmers’ Market (the former fire hall) on Young Street.
This year’s event is being hosted by the Friends of Camp Pagweak and the Farmers’ Market.
Christmas at the Café began three years ago at a small café in Bible Hill and was created out of the recognition that many people today don’t have nearby family with whom to celebrate the Yuletide holidays as well as the fact that some families struggle to deal with the financial strain that Christmas can bring.
The annual feast provides for a fun, family outing with lots of laughter, conversation and the infectious sounds of children playing.
Students in the area who are not heading home for Christmas or families who could use some company or a little help in ensuring they have a Christmas dinner are invited to attend.
Any monetary donations that exceed the needs for the Christmas celebration will be given to Camp Pagweak to support the new water sport initiative at the camp.
