Police arrest female after second robbery attempt

Surveillance footage shows a woman wanted in connection with a robbery at the Needs on Queen Street at roughly 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 14. Anyone with information on the identity of the woman is asked to contact the Truro Police Service at 895-5351.

TRURO – A female sought for an overnight robbery was arrested after returning to the same store and attempting to rob it for a second time.

The 33-year-old woman, originally from Halifax but now living in Truro, was arrested Friday.

She was wanted in connection to a robbery at Needs on Queen Street at 12:40 Friday morning.

She returned to the same store at noon on Friday only to be chased from the store by staff. While trying to get away, the woman assaulted the staff member.

She is facing charges of robbery, wearing a disguise during a criminal offence, attempted robbery and assault.

She is in custody until a future court appearance.





At around 12:40 Friday morning, Truro Police received a call about a robbery.

The clerk advised that a female entered the store and demanded money, saying if the clerk did not give her money, someone would get hurt. 

The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white female wearing a beige coat, blue jeans, and a blue scarf and a hat.
