Matters adjourned in proceeds of crime charges

TRURO – Proceeds of crime charges against five North River residents were adjourned again in provincial court on Tuesday.

Curtis Blair Lynds, 36, Randy Lynds, 56, Jessica Hamilton, 29, Christopher Lynds, 35, and Janice Lynds, 55, will return to court on Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m.

Curtis Lynds is facing 41 counts of possession of proceeds of crime and two counts of laundering the proceeds of crime.

Randy Lynds and Hamilton and facing two counts of possession of proceeds of crime, while Christopher Lynds is facing 26 counts of possession of proceeds of crime and one charge of laundering proceeds of crime. Janice Lynds is charged with one count of possession of proceeds of crime.

All charges have been adjourned until next month for status reports.

Curtis Lynds is also facing a charge of assisting Jeffrey Lynds escape, knowing that Jeffrey Lynds murdered Randy Mersereau.

Both the Crown and defence attorneys requested the adjournment in the latter charge. The matter was adjourned until June 9, 2014, at 9:30 a.m.
