TRURO - A Truro man facing numerous charges in an alleged unlawful confinement case had his plea adjourned to early December.
Kyle David Wheaton, 26, will return to provincial court on Dec. 5 to answer to charges of assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, kidnapping, public mischief by misleading police and failing to comply with an undertaking.
He's also facing charges of assault, uttering a death threat and mischief or property damage, as well as failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to appear for identification purposes and failing to attend court.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred between March 4 and May 16.
During Wheaton's court appearance, lawyer Amber Snow said she has an appointment with the accused on Nov. 9 regarding the matters, so she requested an adjournment until following the meeting.
Crown attorney Paul Drysdale requested the adjournment be extended into December to bring a "companion matter" to the same date. The companion matter is scheduled for Nov. 7 in court.
Also during Wheaton's appearance, an application was made to vary a condition of his recognizance to allow his two children to be in his place of residence after 9 p.m.
His original recognizance included a clause that saw his surety approve of all visitors to the residence, and no visitors to be allowed after 9 p.m. The exception was added to allow his children to visit the residence after that time.
