TRURO - The sentencing of Ryan Harvey McLellan has been postponed until Thursday.
McLellan, 26, of Economy had been scheduled for sentencing in provincial court in Truro on Tuesday, but the date was changed because of a conflict with the judge's schedule.
McLellan has pleaded guilty to charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and fleeing the scene of an accident, relating to a Jan. 1 incident in which he struck down Holly Grue, 23, of Bass River following a New Year's Eve dance. Grue was walking down the road to her car after leaving a dance in Economy.
Grue suffered numerous serious injuries and is paralyzed from the waist down.
McLellan will also be sentenced on four charges, including evading police and refusing the breathalyser, stemming from an Aug. 31 incident in which he stole a pickup truck from Bass River and later ran numerous stops signs and red lights while attempting to flee from Truro officers.
