TRURO - Roughly 150 people marched from the Holiday Inn to the local MP's office Saturday morning to protest against changes to the Employment Insurance program.

Topics :
Canaiand Union of Public Employees , Nova Scotia , Willow Street

Danny Cavanagh, president of the Canaiand Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in Nova Scotia, lead the march and rally to Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley MP Scott Armstrong's office on Willow Street.

"Our biggest issue is cutbacks in the system to unemployment, especially for seasoned workers," said Cavanagh.

He said many employees are already living on the poverty line and making changes will push them further into poverty.
