ONSLOW - Young people in Colchester County will be given special recognition during a 4-H awards night next month.
The fifth annual Colchester County 4-H scholarship auction and awards night will be held on Nov. 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Colchester Junior High in Onslow.
The event is hosted by members of local 4-H clubs as well as their leaders and families. Awards will be given out to top senior member, top junior member, rookie and junior leader as well as top
all-around member and the friends of 4-H award.
In addition to the awards will be a silent auction. Items donated by the community, organizations and businesses include pet supplies, clothing, tools, gift certificates and cheese baskets, to name a few.
There will also be a live fancy cake auction.
The evening, which is open to everyone, helps raise money for the 4-H scholarship fund. All of the proceeds go to the 4-H senior members in good standing who are attending a post-secondary institution.
