TATAMAGOUCHE - The opening date for the Tatamagouche Food Bank has been set for Nov. 13.

The bank, located in the basement of the Gospel Hall, 136 Blair Ave., will be open from noon until 3 p.m.

Board member Michael Gregory said plans are to open the bank every Tuesday at least until Christmas.

"In the New Year we will have to look at numbers of clients and then decide if we should continue to be open every week or cut back to three or two days a month," he said. "We cannot make that decision until we are up and running for awhile."

The bank will be offering whatever foodstuffs are donated, and boxes will be packed following Canada's Food Guide.

"We have a good group of volunteers and a lot of people and businesses have given us their support," Gregory said. "We hope that this will be successful."

As well, there are a number of events planned in the village to assist the food bank for the remainder of October.
