STEWIACKE - A man was uninjured Tuesday morning when the vehicle he was driving caught on fire.

Colchester RCMP, Stewiacke firefighters and paramedics responded to a call just before 9 a.m. Tuesday of a vehicle on fire on Highway 102 near Stewiacke.

The vehicle was parked on the side of the road and fully engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived.

Northbound traffic on the highway was stopped for about 30 minutes and then reduced to one lane for 15 minutes while crews worked to extinguish the fire.

The fire is believed to have started due to an electronic malfunction.
