TRURO - A local resident has a big reason to be pleased with the outcome of a recent breast cancer fundraiser.
Truro's Kenneth Smith participated in the New Brunswick-based Big Stop Breast Cancer Campaign by purchasing a ticket for prizes in the Salisbury contest. Smith won a 43-inch, Samsung flat-screen television in the fundraiser, which ultimately raised more than $78,000. The money will be donated to the CIBC Run for the Cure.
This particular fundraiser has been in existence for 11 years and has raised more than $1 million.
