TRURO - Recreation Nova Scotia is hosting its 15th annual provincial conference in Truro next week and, for the first time ever, the public is invited to attend the Conference Trade Show and Local Marketplace.

"Close to 50 exhibitors from around the province will have displays, including eight local organizations," said Rhonda Lemire, Recreation Nova Scotia's executive director, in a news release. "They will present information related to culture, arts, crafts, food, sport/recreation and more."

The event is free of charge and will be held Oct. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Nova Scotia Community College, Truro Campus.

"This year, we wanted to include a local flavour and so added a local marketplace component to our annual trade show to make the event more inclusive to the public," said Lemire.

"This is an opportunity to come out and support our local vendors and to see what kinds of great products and services they offer."

More than 200 delegates from across and outside Nova Scotia are attending the three-day RNS conference themed: The Power of Community. Delegates represent a broad interest in recreation and associated fields.

The trade show includes companies and organizations which promote recreational opportunities to people of all ages. These include suppliers and providers of recreational equipment and sporting goods; educational opportunities; and management and marketing expertise; as well as organizations promoting recreational and cultural activities, community beautification, nutrition, active transportation and more.

For more information about the trade show and a complete list of exhibitors, check out the RNS conference website at: http://www.recreationns.ns.ca/conference.
