“We’re quite encouraged said returning officer Lorraine Dawson, who said a total of 593 voters turned out for the first day of advance polls.
Mayor Bob Taylor has already been acclaimed along with councillors in Districts 1, 2, 4 and 8. As a result, advance voting at those polls recorded lower numbers as the only remaining vote is for the African Nova Scotian school board member.
The advance numbers by district are:
District 1 – 0;
District 2 – 7;
District 3 – 57;
District 4 – 0;
District 5 – 72;
District 6 – 52;
District 7 – 215;
District 8 – 6;
District 9 – 34;
District 10 – 46;
District 11 – 104.
Total = 593.
