Truro developer to speak in Montreal

TRURO - A Truro developer is heading to Montreal to address delegates at the Heritage Canada Foundation National Summit.

Ron Meech, president of Meech Holdings Ltd., is to participate in a panel discussion on Innovative Community Revitalization Strategies.

The summit runs from Oct. 11 to 13.

Meech is known locally for the redevelopment of the former Willow Street School and St. Mary's Elementary School, as well as plans to redevelop lands where Alice Street School once stood.

He will be joined on the panel by Ken Henderson, a former school teacher and current chairman of the Truro Heritage Advisory Committee. Other panel members include municipal and development officials from across Canada.
