Funding approved for recreation conference

TRURO - Colchester County Council has approved $4,000 in funding for an upcoming recreation conference in Truro.

Recreation Nova Scotia is holding its 15th annual conference in the Hubtown between Oct. 24 and 26.

The conference has not been held in this region since the 1980s.

The allocated amount from council is what was requested by conference officials.

A budget of $72,400 has been set for the conference with an additional $14,750 budget set for the awards banquet.

About 250 to 300 delegates from throughout Nova Scotia are expected to attend the event.
