SACKVILLE – The Brookfield Elks lost 4-3 to the Sackville Blazers in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action here Monday.

It was the season opener for the Elks. The Blazers climb to 2-1.

Andrew Kennedy, with a first-period power play marker, Cole Baker and Shane Piercey, with 1:28 remaining in the game, scored for Brookfield. Ryan Ingraham and Connor Baker had two assists apiece.

Former Truro Bearcats netminder Spencer Scott made 45 saves.

Scoring for Sackville were Zachary Thomas, with a pair, Alexander Berry and Matthew Arthur.

The Elks trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes and 3-2 after 40.
