TRURO - If you're between nine and 14 years of age and are interested in robots, science, technology and LEGO, then an upcoming competition may be for you.

The FIRST LEGO League competition will take place at the Nova Scotia Community College Truro campus on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Teams are able to register now for the event, which sees each team build a working robot using a LEGO Mindstorms kit and prepare research on the theme of ‘senior solutions.'

At the November competition, students will present their research before putting their robots through a number of challenges and tests, which college instructors will judge.

Training and support is available for registered teams.

Qualifying rounds are held across the province in the lead up to the Feb. 2, 2013, provincial championship at Acadia University in Wolfville.
