Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a Halifax taxi driver Monday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say just after 7 a.m., a taxi driver picked up a man around Spring Garden Road and Summer Street. He then drove him to the area of Brunswick Street and Sunrise Walk, when the passenger claimed he had a gun, and then demanded the driver give him cash.

The taxi driver wasn’t hurt while the suspect fled on foot with an unknown amount of money.

He is described as a white man, about 30 years of age, and was wearing dark clothes and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
