TATAMAGOUCHE - Two air cadets from Tatamagouche received The Duke of Edinburgh's Award silver certificates of achievement at a ceremony in Halifax on Saturday.

Austin Miller and Justin Thibault, both of 596 Phoenix RCACS, were honoured along with 15 other cadets from various parts of the province for fulfilling a demanding challenge set by the Award Programme Patron, His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip.

With adult guidance and assessment, the participants follow a non-competitive and self-directed programme that challenges them to achieve their personal best in four areas: physical fitness, community service, skill development and outdoor expeditions.

Brigadier-General the Honourable J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD(Ret'd), Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, made the presentations.
