TRURO - The fifth annual Nova Scotia Community College Truro campus program profile challenge will take place this week.
The Program Profile Challenge will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the college on Arthur Street. The challenge is an event in which a group of students from the Nova Scotia Community College Truro campus will present to other students, staff, judges and the community exactly who they are and what their program is about.
The program profiles will be judged and prizes will be given for representation of program, originality and presentation.
In order to participate, students must get together with their classmates to form a group. They must come up with a way to get across their program's uniqueness in a two-minute presentation using writings, drawings, film, acting or songs.
All groups must also be prepared to answer questions from the judges.
Past presentations included artwork, displays about careers in the program, animated short clips, recycled materials, board games, paper mache masks, T-shirt designs, poems, PowerPoint presentations and much more.
The community is encouraged to attend the event to learn more about what the college offers and how it impacts the community.
In addition, local Subways will host a fundraiser from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on challenge day to help raise money for the Truro campus bursaries and awards.
