TRURO - A decision as to whether or not Kyle David Ryan Wheaton is granted bail has been adjourned for just over a week.

The 26-year-old Colchester County man is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, kidnapping, public mischief by misleading police and failing to comply with an undertaking.

A show cause hearing was held on Tuesday, however the provincial court judge reserved its decision until Thursday. Come Thursday, Wheaton consented to remand again after the judge reserved the decision until Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Wheaton was arrested in Calgary last week on a Canada-wide warrant.

The charges he's facing are alleged to have occurred between April 1 and 9 in Truro.

Wheaton was also charged with one count each of assault, uttering a threat to cause death and mischief or property damage against the same victim, dating to March 4 in Bible Hill.

He's facing a charge of failing to comply with an undertaking on April 1 in Truro, as well as failing to appear for identification purposes and failing to attend court on May 14 and 16, respectively.
