STEWIACKE - An armed robber who held up the Stewiacke Pharmasave Monday evening is still on the lam and being sought by the RCMP.
A man approached the pharmacist at about 5:40 p.m. and asked for pills, then produced what police said appeared to be a handgun.
The suspect then went behind the counter and stole a variety of pills, ran out of the store and got into a dark-colored car and headed east on Main Street.
The suspect had his face partially covered with glasses and was wearing a red ball cap and grey sweat shirt with the hood up over his head. Because the zipper was open, he was seen wearing a white T-shirt underneath and light-coloured blue jeans.
The RCMP are asking for assistance from anyone who was on Main Street or near the Stewiacke Pharmasave around 5:45 p.m. and observed someone fitting the description walking from the pharmacy. Likewise, if you were in Dennis Park and observed the dark-colored vehicle parked behind the post office and can provide any details on the vehicle or the suspect.
A spokesperson for the pharmacy said no comment would be forthcoming at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP at 902-893-6820 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-224-8477.
