TRURO - It's going to be all things 60s this weekend for three-quarters of the graduating class that's celebrating 50 years.
About 45 people have registered for the reunion of the 1962 graduating class from Truro Senior High School.
Heather Hill, one of the organizers, said plans have been in the works for about two years now.
"It's somewhat of a chore to find all of those that have moved away, so we wanted to give them a good heads up," she said.
The reunion will begin tonight with registration and a meet and greet at the Truro Golf Club from 7 to 9 p.m.
Saturday's activities will be held at Hill's home in Truro.
"We'll be having a buffet dinner, a photo of our class, play some 60s music and tell some stories," she said, adding it's a mingling affair.
With 62 people in the graduating class from the school, which was on the cusp of changing from Colchester County Academy, Hill said to have 45 people registered is good news.
"When we heard about the reunion being planned for last year, we thought we might forget about this one, but I'm really pleased we didn't. At last year's reunion, there were only three people from our graduating class."
She said it took a while to track down many of the classmates and some are traveling from British Columbia and even Georgia.
"Not all the graduating students may have registered either, so they can do that on site at the golf club."
Saturday's events start at 3 p.m.
