DEBERT - Depending on how the weather plays out Wednesday and Thursday, four restored vintage Yellow Wings aircraft are expected to be on display at the Debert airport.

The planes initially were planned to be on display for Sunday and Monday but the visit was postponed because of sporadic rainy weather.

Although currently in New Brunswick, a concerted effort will be made to bring them to Debert providing the skies remain clear.

The planes were among several used during the Second World War for training hundreds of thousands allied aviators at air fields across Canada, including Debert.

Yellow Wings volunteer pilots are to also be on hand to talk about the significance of the historic planes, which are operated by Vintage Wings of Canada.

The planes are expected to arrive in Debert about mid-morning today, depending, of course, on the weather.
