TRURO – The Truro Bearcats were pounded 24-1 by the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry in Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League action at the TAAC Grounds on Friday.

The loss dropped the last-place Bearcats to 5-18. Second-place Dartmouth climbs to 17-8.

Dan Bates and Mike Tobin had two hits apiece for Truro. Starting pitcher Josh Fushtey didn’t make it past the second inning as Dartmouth rolled to an early 10-0 lead.

Truro hosts the first-place Kentville Wildcats (18-5) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
