BIBLE HILL - An amazing race planned through the village of Bible Hill today has been postponed to allow more teams to participate.
The village has planned to host its own version of the popular television show Amazing Race, in which contestants race to complete challenges while encountering roadblocks along the way.
Chad Samson, the village's special events co-ordinator, said the race was originally scheduled to take place today at 9 a.m., beginning at the Bible Hill Recreation Park. However, the event has been postponed until Aug. 11 at the same time and place due to lack of registration on Friday afternoon.
Preliminary plans would have families or teams of four to five people venturing throughout Bible Hill, accomplishing specific missions before moving on to another one. Participants walk to each challenge and are timed, and the first family to complete all their challenges will receive a prize.
Sampson said during the race there would be a number of creative, challenging tasks for people who seek fun and adventure.
To register, call Samson at 890-8845 or the village hall at 893-8083 or visit the village hall at 67 Pictou Rd.
The event was held last year with about six families participating.
