BIBLE HILL - Two adults are facing charges stemming from a traffic checkpoint by the RCMP and MADD.

On the night of July 4, RCMP Northern Traffic Services, in partnership with MADD Canada and the Bible Hill RCMP detachment, conducted a checkpoint in Bible Hill. A number of summary offence tickets and warnings were issued.

One adult man was charged with driving while suspended, while an adult woman from the Sydney area was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer.

She is scheduled to appear in Truro provincial court on Sept. 5.

The public is reminded to call 911 to report possible impaired drivers.

Any information that can assist in preventing impaired driving can also be reported by calling your local police department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
