TRURO - Creston Rudolph is keeping his fingers crossed this weekend.
Rudolph, the director of Colchester Regional Development Agency's Destination Colchester, is anxiously awaiting the announcement Sunday night at Nova Scotia Music Week as to which community will host the event in 2013 and/or 2014.
"I'm waiting with anticipation to see what the result is," said Rudolph.
Back in July, CoRDA made an application to host the event, which begins Thursday in Yarmouth.
"Since (July), we had the executive director from Music Nova Scotia come up to do a site visit for a day," said Rudolph.
"I took him to a number of possible venues. We met with the project manager for the civic centre, went to places like the Engine Room and Keggers, as well as the agricultural college's theatre."
Rudolph said he didn't take the executive director, Scott Long, to the Marigold Cultural Centre.
"He's already quite familiar with that venue," he said.
Rudolph has a good feeling about the application to host a future event, and said once the organization hears if they are hosting, work will quickly be underway.
"We will work with Music Nova Scotia to solidify the accommodations and sponsors," he said.
"One of the comments the executive director said was that he was pleasantly surprised by the amount of venues we have in the area. I left with a promising outlet."
Nova Scotia Music Week runs until Sunday. It features a variety of musical performances and workshops leading up to the Gala Awards Show, which begins at 8 p.m. at the Mariners Centre.
