Substantial federal funding commitment to aid two local projects

TRURO-The Federal government opened its coffers Thursday committing $854,400 to two Colchester County enhancement projects.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency is investing $800,000 through the Innovative Communities Fund to upgrade the commercial district of Downtown Truro, as well as $54,400 to support the Colchester Regional Development Agency with its plan to develop the Debert Air Industrial Park.

“We are very excited to get started on the façade improvements to our downtown core,” said Truro mayor Bill Mils. “Truro continues to build on its strengths and we are looking forward to even greater prosperity and success for our citizens and our downtown merchants.
