MILLBROOK - Criminal code charges are anticipated following last week's seizure of firearms from a Millbrook home.
"The charges are to be laid before the court in the near future," said Sgt. Don Daigle, Millbrook RCMP detachment.
A male and female who live in the home were arrested and released on promises to appear in court on Dec. 1 to answer to charges relating to the ongoing investigation.
On Sept. 2, the RCMP's emergency response team entered a Gerald Avenue home.
Police seized 16 long guns, three handguns, four ballistic vests, several gun magazines and a large quantity of ammunition.
Numerous sources have told the Truro Daily News that former Indian Brook chief and current councillor Alex (Butch) MacDonald lives in the home.
Police said the search was the result of an extensive investigation by the Colchester street crime enforcement unit with assistance from the RCMP in Millbrook and Colchester County.
The Millbrook RCMP detachment is continuing the investigation.
