BIBLE HILL - Sunny weather and a great lineup have organizers anticipating the biggest Dutch Mason Blues Festival yet.
While official ticket figures are not expected to be available for a couple of days, festival producer David DeWolfe said Sunday he expected numbers would be higher than ever.
"It's been great," he told the Truro Daily News while James Harman entertained the crowd. "Once again the people have shown us they love this festival and they love what we're doing and I can't be more happy about that."
The weather again worked in the concert's favour with warm temperatures and no precipitation.
"We are so, so lucky and blessed," DeWolfe said. "People comment that Dutchie and the boys that are up there are just blowing smoke circles around us just to keep the cloud and the rain away."
And there might be a little history working on the festival's behalf. DeWolfe said he looked back over a century of data from almanacs and discovered the second full weekend in August was generally sunny. That is why he chose that weekend to host the festival, hoping it would hold true, and it has during the festival's six years.
This is the fourth year the three-day concert has been held in Bible Hill at the Truro Raceway and it is not going anywhere.
"This feels like home as Dutchie said," DeWolfe added.
"It belongs here. The facility is getting better and better every year. As we grow, better infrastructure will be put in place."
