Thieves target vehicles in Salmon River

Thieves targeted at least three vehicles in the Salmon River area overnight as they searched for items of value left inside.

RCMP Sgt. Al Affleck said these are crimes of opportunity and is reminding people to lock their vehicles.

The officer said the person or person responsible for a recent rash of thefts from vehciels may be using a tool to unlock doors and strongly suggests people remove items of value from vehicles.

Since last week both RCMP and Truro Police Service have received more than 45 reports of items stolen from vehicles in Truro, Bible Hill, Salmon River and surrounding areas.
