TRURO - It's almost time to take a plunge at the Victoria Park Pool.

The pool will open for the season on Thursday. It will be open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday before returning to its normal hours on Saturday.

"The pool is a very important part of the summer parks and rec program," said Doug MacKenzie, director of parks, recreation and culture.

"The pool, since reconstruction a number of years ago, has been extremely popular, well attended and enjoyed by people from all over the area."

The pool will also host a toonie swim on Tuesday for youth who bring their report cards.

The pool averages about 1,000 visitors a week.

The summer membership fees are: $75 for adults (19+), $65 for youth (13-18), $60 for children (12 and under) and $125 for a family. The non-member fees are $4.50 for adults, $3.75 for youth, $3.25 for children and $8 for a family.
