Conditional sentence handed down for drug, tobacco charges
TRURO – A North River man convicted of possessing morphine for the purpose of trafficking has been handed a 12-month conditional sentence.
Kevin James DeWolfe, 52, of 28 Valleyview Dr. was also convicted of possessing more than 30 grams of marijuana and tobacco which did not have the prescribed markings.
His sentence is to be followed by six months probation.
Conditions attached to his sentence include house arrest for the first six months, not possessing or consuming alcohol or illicit drugs, taking prescribed medication as written, counselling for alcohol and drug use and not associating with anyone with a known criminal record, outside of immediate family members.
DeWolfe was also fined $698.24 on the tobacco charge and was placed on a 10-year firearms and weapons ban.
Sentence suspended, probation for man who assaulted two people
TRURO – A Truro Heights man was given a suspended sentence and nine months probation for assaulting two individuals, including a woman.
Derrick Sheldon Wright, 46, was also ordered not to consume or possess alcohol or illicit drugs, stay away from places that sell booze and take counselling for alcohol consumption and domestic violence.
