Public invited to share concerns about emergency health servicesTATAMAGOUCHE – Members of the public who would like to share their concerns about emergency health services are encouraged to attend a meeting on Friday at the Tatamagouche fire hall.
Dr. John Ross, a consultant hired by the Department of Health to conduct a complete review of the province’s emergency services, will be participating in the public session, which begins at noon.
Other participants are to include managers, staff and physicians with the Colchester East Hants Health Authority and community stakeholders.
The review being undertaken by Ross includes looking at best practices in terms of patient flow, quality standards, availability of providers to maintain services and utilization by patients.
He has been asked by the department to recommend minimum standards that a community and regional hospital must meet in order to provide safe care to patients.
