BRIDGEWATER, N.S. - Officials are investigating a fire that caused the evacuation of a 26-unit apartment building in the Nova Scotia community of Bridgewater.
The fire was reported just before 6 p.m. Wednesday on Pleasant Street.
A Red Cross spokesperson says firefighters quickly doused the flames.
However, seven apartments sustained smoke and water damage and several people needed overnight accommodations.
The cleanup is expected to take a day or two.
Still no word on what sparked the fire.
