Who: Eric Boutilier
Age: 54
Resident of: Bible Hill area
Running for: Colchester County councillor for District 11
Family: Wife Janine, son Benn and daughter Abby
Occupation: guidance counsellor/teacher
Hobbies: Volunteering, being active, golf, hockey
Experience: Served as 1st vice-president on the provincial council of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union. Served as Colchester-East Hants president of the NSTU. Was a past member of Truro Parks and Recreation Commission. Was on the board of directors of the Central Nova Industry and Education Council.
Major issues: Economic development in our county so that our local workforce and business can grow. With the new civic center, hospital and growing Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, I believe that Colchester County is poised to have great development over the next number of years. I would like to help make Colchester County an even more attractive place where families can work, play, live and grow in the future. We need action on the damage that flooding does in our county.
Why he believes he's a good candidate: I have the experience of dealing with a multi-million-dollar budget and the fiduciary responsibility that comes with that. I will make decisions which are in the best interests of our community moving forward. I will strongly represent the good citizens of District 11.
