BIBLE HILL - Bible Hill resident Quinn McCarthy has announced his intention to run for Colchester County council in October's municipal elections.

Family: Married to Angela McCarthy; children Aidan, 6, and Molly, 1.
Running for: District 11
Occupation: Business manager at Pye Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd.
Hobbies: Founding chair of Colchester NEXT; vice-president of the Bible Hill Kinsmen; leader with Second Bible Hill Beavers; youth representative of the Colchester Regional Development Agency/association board of directors; member of Truro and District Chamber of Commerce's Support Local committee.
Council Experience: No prior experience
Major issues he sees in the county: "With low voter turnouts in the last municipal elections I believe it's important to be available to the residents of District 11 and anyone in the area. Every concern and idea needs to be shared, and for everyone to know that each vote makes a difference."
Why I would make a good candidate: "Through my work with several volunteer groups and other community members, I recognized the importance of listening to community concerns and collaborating to promote our region. Together we can make Colchester a better place for all of us. I will work hard to represent District 11 and Colchester County with an open mind."
