TRURO - Lower Onslow native Doug MacInnes has announced his intention to run for Colchester County Council in October's municipal elections. The following is an introductory bio.
Who: Doug MacInnes
Age: 50
Family: Wife Wanda and three children, two stepsons and a daughter ranging in age from 24 to 30. Also three beautiful granddaughters ages 2, 3 and 4 years old.
Running for: District #9 councilor.
Occupation: Sales Manager with Wilson Fuel Co. in Truro.
Outside Interest: President of the Lower Onslow Community Centre Society; member of the Colchester Regional Development Association/Agency Board of directors; member of CoRDA's Industrial Parks sub committee; member of the Along the Shore Health Board.
Council experience: None.
Why he would make a good candidate: ‘I believe my experience listening to and working with the Colchester business community and with individual families has helped me build strong, lasting relationships that will benefit the constituents greatly if I am elected as councilor. I am also very familiar with the concerns and issues facing the Debert Air Industrial Park. I truly believe that the Debert Air Industrial Park has a very bright and prosperous future not only for the people of District 9 but for the whole of Colchester County.'
