STEWIACKE - With two advance polls and daily electronic voting, more than a quarter of Stewiacke's eligible voters have cast their ballot.
Sheldon Dorey, returning officer for the town, said 100 people have cast their ballot through the advance paper polls.
"And as of suppertime Thursday, we've had 166 electronic or telephone votes. That's a total of 29.3 per cent of voters," he said.
With less than 48 hours left to vote, the countdown is on for who will win the election.
Current Deputy Mayor Wendy Robinson has already been acclaimed as the town's new mayor, and 11 candidates are running for six seats on council.
Four of those - Debbie Frizzell, Pam Osborne, Russel Stoddart and Tracy Werenka - are re-offering and are facing newcomers Chad Ramsey, Chester Gourley, Jim McMorran, Richard Patterson, Sherrylynn Woodworth, Susan Creelman and Jim Acker.
The polls close at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
