TRURO - Truro residents continued to cast their ballots electronically on the weekend as the fourth day of municipal elections wrapped up.
As of early Sunday evening, 16.7 per cent of eligible voters in the town went online to vote for their favourite candidates. That equalled 1,488 people.
Ward 2 had the highest turnout with 565 people voting, followed by 499 votes for Ward 1 candidates and 424 for Ward 3 opponents.
Earlier in the weekend, as of early Saturday evening, a total of 14.3 per cent of eligible voters in the town voted. That equaled 1,278 people casting an electronic ballot.
Jud Pearson, returning officer for the Town of Truro, remains pleased with the turnout.
"It's great, the way people are voting. They're continuing to vote, which I like," said Pearson. "You get addicted to watching the number of votes that come in."
